Iron River, Wisconsin
Dick Rewalt of the Western Bayfield County Historical Society will present an in-depth look into the early years of Iron River. This will include rarely seen pictures of the earliest years of Iron River. Iron River was founded 130 years ago (1892) this spring. It was a rowdy “Boom town” that was fueled by sheer Frontier energy.Come see how this story unfolds – Meet the Families that invested and staked their lives in this Town, how Iron River grew up and appreciate the foundations this community has received as our legacy. There will be lots of opportunity for questions and conversation before, during and after the presentation. If you have pictures of early Iron River bring them with – we will have a scanner set up to digitize them on the spot. Your pictures may just fill in parts of this very intriguing story that are yet to be documented.*This event is free to the public.*
